Santa Ana Golf Courses Host PGA Professionals

Four-day tournament aired on Golf Channel

The best golf course professionals from around the country spent the week in Sandoval County, competing in the PGA Professionals Championship at Santa Ana Pueblo.

The tournament also gained the two courses and the Albuquerque metro area national exposure, as it was broadcast on the Golf Channel during a week with favorable weather conditions.

The four-day, 96-hole event began April 30 and finished on May 3, with more than 300 club professionals playing two rounds each at Santa Ana and Twin Warriors golf clubs.

“The PGA Professional Championship is our members’ major championship,” said the championship director Mark Tschetschot in a statement. “This event showcases 312 of the PGA’s most talented professionals. We are thrilled to be back here at Twin Warriors and Santa Ana golf clubs for the third time in this championship’s history.”

Tschetschot went on to compliment Derek Gutierrez, PGA general manager of Santa Ana Golf Club, Inc., for doing a great job hosting the tournament.

“Hosting the 2023 PGA Professional Championship in Santa Ana Pueblo is a tremendous honor as a PGA member.

The Santa Ana Pueblo golf courses are among the highest rated golf courses in the state, and are recognized around the country. Both rank in Golf Digest’s 100 best public courses in America.

Santa Ana Golf Club hosted the PGA Professional Championship in 2009.

Twin Warriors hosted the Senior PGA Professional Championship and the prestigious Women’s PGA Cup in 2022.
