With the turning over of the calendar, the Sandoval Signpost will mark its 35th year serving the people of Placticas and the surrounding area.
For almost that entire time, Barb and Ty Belknap of Belknap Publishing put together a monthly publication that reliably kept area residents informed about what was happening in their community and important issues that impact their lives.
But times change, as a look back through the Signpost archives attests. And there’s no slowing down as our area continues its growth and the matters of a simpler time become more complex.
With that in mind, Pat Davis, the new owner of the Signpost, is proud to announce changes within the newspaper to keep pace with our changing times.
Starting in the new year, the Signpost will begin publishing every other week. Placitas residents and some in neighboring zip codes will receive the next edition of the Signpost the first week in January, followed by another one two weeks later.
The Signpost has long served as the local paper of record for Placitas and southern Sandoval County. Now, we’re looking to expand our reach to other parts of the county with increased coverage of what’s happening on the other side of the river, necessitating an increased frequency of publication. It also keeps the news in each edition from growing stale, and allows us to provide folks in Sandoval County with fresher, more up-to-date content.
We welcome your feedback as we carry on the legacy, and blaze a new path, for the Signpost for the next 35 years and beyond.
