Staff report

Music in Corrales will present a free community concert featuring the high-energy Latin group Baracutanga on Saturday, May 31 at La Entrada Park, adjacent to the Corrales Library at 84 W La Entrada. The performance will take place from 4-5:30 p.m.

Baracutanga, a seven-piece band with members representing Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and the USA, blends South American ancestral traditions with a modern sensibility. Led by Corraleños vocalist Jackie Zamora, the group creates uplifting songs that transcend linguistic and cultural barriers. Their distinct Latin flavor is sure to have attendees dancing.

The event is open to the public and welcomes families, grandparents, and individuals. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, bug spray and a picnic (no alcohol permitted).

Corrales MainStreet and the Village of Corrales are co-sponsors of the concert.
