A New Mexico organization focused on science and technology education is recruiting volunteers to work with students across the state.

R4Creating will hold volunteer orientation sessions Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 12:30 p.m. at its facility at 1650 Rio Rancho Blvd. in Rio Rancho. The sessions are open to anyone interested in supporting youth education in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

Volunteer positions include scorekeeping at robotics competitions, leading activities at STEM Fest events, mentoring students and serving as guest presenters in camps and classes. The roles support students working on robotics, coding, engineering and design projects.

“Whether you’re working behind the scenes or directly with students, your time and talents help open doors for young people across New Mexico,” said Dr. Shelly Gruenig, founding executive director of R4Creating.

The orientation will cover program details, volunteer opportunities and allow attendees to meet staff members. Those interested can register by emailing info@R4Creating.org. Additional information is available at www.R4Creating.org.
