Sandoval County Fire and Rescue will host a public community meeting Friday to discuss plans for Northwest Sandoval County Fire Station 34.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Sandoval County Recreation Center, 37 Rodeo Road in Cuba.

Officials will address several key topics, including which communities the fire station will serve, its proposed location and staffing plans. The station will be staffed by Cuba Fire and Sandoval County Northwest District volunteers.

County officials will also explain the need for the new facility.

Commissioner Joshua Jones, Deputy County Manager Eric Masterson, Fire Chief Chris Bagley and Deputy Fire Chief Sean Kissane are expected to attend the informational session.

The meeting is open to the public. Those with questions before the meeting may call 505-867-0245.
