Corn Maiden, the fine dining establishment at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, is introducing a new Sunday dining series.
Starting June 15, the restaurant will host special pre-dinner receptions on the third Sunday of each month, featuring guided tastings and small plates.
“We’re thrilled to offer guests a unique way to connect and enjoy memorable experiences together,” said Executive Chef Nate Larsen. “Our new series brings together thoughtfully curated tastings and small plates, providing an unforgettable opportunity to savor the best of what we have to offer.”
The inaugural event coincides with Father’s Day on June 15th and will include a special menu alongside regular offerings. The meal includes crispy fried local mushrooms with tempura batter, pickled onions, Parmesan and house-made ranch. The entrée features an 8oz ground bison patty topped with house-cured bacon, smoked gouda, spicy pickles and garlic aioli, served on a brioche bun with crispy shoestring fries.
Upcoming events in the series include:
- June 22: An exclusive tequila and mezcal tasting with paired small plates.
- July 20: A Daou wine tasting featuring five varietals, also with paired small plates.
- August 17: A bourbon tasting experience with a variety of bourbons and small plates.
Receptions will be held between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Prices vary, and reservations are encouraged. Reservations can be made by calling (505) 867-1234 or visiting opentable.cornmaiden.com.
At these prices I expected a better dining experience, overall I’m a bit disappointed. Our waitperson was new on the job and had some trouble remembering though she was writing orders down. But, that was the least of my concerns as service was sloooow though they weren’t that crowded. The appetizers (and dishes) that were ordered and were soon gone remained on the table, as no one cleared the small table we were seated at. When the main entries arrived then they cleared the table. No one came to check on us and the food until we were almost done. We did receive complimentary champagne (as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary) and that was greatly appreciated. Dinner and drinks for 4 people came to about $350, so I expect better service.
