The Town of Bernalillo is inviting the public to several community events this month at which participants will be able to get out the old and learn some new skills.
A free e-cycling event Saturday will give residents the opportunity to recycle old electronics. Laptop and desktop computers, mobile phones, monitors, VCRs and other equipment will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Town Hall 829 Camino Del Pueblo.
Participants in an April 15 community tile glazing workshop will learn glazing techniques and help apply color to tile that will be used in the town’s “Plant & Pollinators” Public mosaic mural.
That event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bernalillo Community Museum & Garden, 118 Calle Malinche. All supplies will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty or possibly damaged.
Irrigation expert and Sandoval County Extension Master Gardener Mike Jackovich will host a drip irrigation workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 23 at the Bernalillo Community Museum & Garden.
April 25 is Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, at Bernalillo Police Department, 739 Camino Del Pueblo. Residents may drop off expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications for disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Also on April 25, the Bernalillo Community Museum & Garden is inviting the public to celebrate Arbor Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees will have access to low-cost plants, a seed library and a presentation on fermentation by Eydie Francis, courtesy of Sandoval County Cooperative Extension. Bernalillo Farmers Market will also be present.
Anyone with questions about community events may contact the town Community Development office at 505-771-7133 or email cjones@tobnm.gov.
