Veterans in Sandoval County can access disability benefits, property tax exemptions, state park passes and more at a free Veterans Services Fair next Monday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sandoval County Government Complex lobby, 1500 Idalia Rd., Bldg. D, in Bernalillo.
New Mexico Department of Veterans Services Cabinet Secretary Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Jamison Herrera will attend alongside a lineup of veteran-focused organizations and veteran-owned businesses. State Sens. Craig Brandt and Jay Block and Reps. Alan Martinez, Josh Hernandez and Catherine Cullen are hosting the event.
“This event is an important opportunity to ensure those who have served our country are connected with the benefits, resources and support they have earned,” said Sen. Block, a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force.
Veterans should bring their award letter, DD-214 and proof of residency to apply for benefits on-site. Benefits available include disability, hospital, survivor, burial, property tax and state park passes. Veterans needing ADA accommodations must contact organizers by Wednesday, April 23.
