Sandoval County voters who cast early ballots Tuesday will get a welcome committee armed with arrows, not placards.

Sandoval County Indivisible, the local chapter of the progressive group Indivisible, plans a “Vote Early” rally from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 6 outside the county offices at Idalia Road and N.M. 528. Organizers said the county clerk’s office will be the only early voting site open that day.

Indivisible’s national office asked chapters to put down protest signs and pick up “VOTE HERE TODAY” signs for its next No Kings action. Organizers will supply signs and bill the events as nonpartisan.

“We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next,” the group’s announcement reads.

Early voting opens Oct. 6 at county clerk offices. On Oct. 17 it expands to more locations across each county, and it runs through Oct. 31. Oct. 6 is also the last day to register online or by mail. After that, you can still register and vote the same day at any early voting site or on Election Day.

Not sure who’s running? The League of Women Voters’ nonpartisan guide at lwvcnm.org/voter_guides/ shows every race on your ballot with candidates’ answers in their own words. Every voter statewide will also see four constitutional amendments and three bond questions.

The group plans four more rallies Oct. 17, the national day of action, when expanded early voting and same-day registration open at alternate voting sites across the county. Two Rio Rancho rallies run in the morning, with Corrales and Bernalillo in the afternoon.

Organizers said all No Kings events commit to nonviolence. They asked participants to de-escalate confrontations and leave weapons at home, including legally carried ones.
