Rio Rancho’s 4-year-olds won’t toss their caps until 2040. Rio Rancho Public Schools wants parents, students and neighbors to help map the route to graduation.

The district launched Horizon 2040, a strategic planning process that will set its priorities for the next several years, Superintendent Robert Dodd announced in a letter to families. Residents can weigh in through an online survey in English or Spanish, or at one of four community conversations starting Oct. 29.

“What should success look like for every student in Rio Rancho Public Schools?” Dodd asked in the letter.

The survey asks what’s working in RRPS, where the district should improve and what matters most going forward. Each hourlong conversation includes an overview of the planning process, small-group discussions facilitated by the district and a chance to pitch ideas to the full room.

The district plans to offer Spanish interpretation at every meeting. Families who need another language can request it by email.
