Bernalillo throws open Loretto Park on Saturday for a blues festival built for an entire family’s Father’s Day weekend, not just dad’s.
The Bernalillo Blues Festival runs 4-10 p.m. June 20 at the park, 237 S. Camino del Pueblo, featuring The Rudy Boy Experiment, Toni Morgan’s Band and One More Silver Dollar across three sets. A car show, a glowing balloon display and vendor booths round out the bill, with $10 tickets at the gate or online and free entry for kids 5 and under.
The Rudy Boy Experiment opens at 4 p.m. with a rock-leaning take on dirty blues, followed by Toni Morgan’s Band at 6 p.m., a lineup stacked with local players including Brant Leeper, Glenn Kostur, Milo, JD and Jim Casey. One More Silver Dollar closes the night at 8 p.m. with a Southern rock sound the band compares to the Allman Brothers, blending blues, jazz and country.
The festival bills itself as rain-or-shine, with no refunds if weather turns, so dressing for sun or showers pays off either way.
