Rio Rancho readers can walk through 250 years of democratic history without leaving Loma Colorado Main Library, as a new exhibition tracing the global ripple effects of the Declaration of Independence is now open.
“Declaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy” runs July 1 through September 12 at the library, 755 Loma Colorado Blvd., according to the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, which produced the exhibition.
The exhibit unpacks how the phrase “all men are created equal” landed as a radical idea in 1776 — and how nations around the world later cited the American model when declaring their own independence. The show is designed for all ages and is free to view during library hours.
