Car lovers, polish that chrome and point your hood ornaments toward Bernalillo. Sandoval County’s 5th Annual Car Show celebrates 100 years of Historic Route 66 on Saturday.

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino del Pueblo, according to a county press release. Iron Horse Welding & Field Services donated the trophies. DJ Delight will spin music all day, and the Tomboy Tako food truck will serve food on site.

The county hosts the show as an employee appreciation event. It partners with Mountain West Fall Fest and See Sandoval New Mexico on the event. This year’s edition salutes the Mother Road, which the federal highway system designated in 1926. The road’s original alignment ran through Bernalillo on what is now Camino del Pueblo, so the cars will park right on the Mother Road’s old path.

Want to show off your ride? Pre-registration costs $30 through Friday, Oct. 2. Registering on the day of the show costs $35. Check-in opens at 8:30 a.m., so early birds get the best parking.
